A Nudist Town Hall meeting could unify nudists for business, tourism

Here Ye, Here Ye… Come one; Come all! I believe it’s time we take our first steps toward a unification of purpose directed to an enhanced nudist lifestyle. In my previous articles I’ve proposed a nudist kind of Chamber of Commerce. To that end we need to start somewhere and that somewhere is a Nudist Town Hall Meeting.

It was mentioned, and I concur, that we hold a nudist Round Table discussion of how we can make our Nudist Pasco community as a whole, and each of our nudist lives in particular, more clothes free and inviting to those beyond.

This would be a “Town Hall” open to the nudist public. I would like to see representatives from all the resorts in Central Florida, residential associations, enclaves and other interested nudist parties, like Pasco Naturally, gather to discuss what we, as an entire community,
can do.

Leadership is crucial at this time. A leading person or organization needs to come forward and take this Round Table to reality.

I would think that the best timing would be after the New Year. This is an occasion when most of our seasonal residents are here. By scheduling just after the holidays, we would leave the calendar open for subsequent meetings, if so desired, while most snowbirds are still here and can contribute.

With many thousands of nudists within our area, we have a rich and wide talent pool to draw upon. One would tend to think that interspaced among our family are some former city managers, local councilpersons and persons with the varied backgrounds to form and participate in the expansion of nudism in Central Florida. What a great retirement job! Working naked to create more naked!

Although I’ve frequently used the term Nudist Pasco, I do believe that it should reflect all of Central Florida.

I’m sure that there are many more points of discussion that should be added. If you have some for the Town Hall meeting, then put pen to paper and send them in a letter to Pasco Naturally. They may print your ideas for all to see, thus starting a dialogue. Good ideas need to be talked about and shared so they can be brought to actuality.

“But, what can one person do?” A lot! Like I said above, write a letter to Pasco Naturally, the owners of your resorts, and your associations. Using the cell phone out by the pool is another great way to get your point across while enjoying the sun.

To some it may seem like I’m stirring the pot! Well, I am. The only way we are going to get a Town Hall Meeting is to stir the pot from the ground up. Creativity does not live in the past. It lives now and thrives in the future.

Having a Round Table doesn’t take anything away from any club, association or group. Rather it affords the opportunity to enrich each.

The members of Pasco SANCO, Sales Associates for Nude and Clothing Optional living, will be joining together in a full-page ad in “N” magazine. I am one of the six Realtors who are doing this. There are four different brokers involved. An even wider program has been discussed. This is but one example of what can be done when people work together.

We have leaders among us and we have helpers too. Everyone has a niche or comfort zone. Anyone can have an idea that sparks the mind that creates. This leads to the common will that causes action and results.

Only by way of geography does this plan encompass the seat of our nudist national organization, AANR. The ideas I have elucidated above and in my past articles are intended in no way to challenge AANR. Rather, I want to complement their work. What I’m talking about is a bottom up organization to further our local expansion.

The creation of a nudist “general store” is an expansion of all our lives. It is also a tourist expansion because it gives a visitor one more activity and may tip the scales of someone visiting or not. It gives the resort membership one more reason to be a nudist. It gives that soon to be retired person one more reason to retire here. Now, if we just had a second reason…

Something else that I would like to see is the working together of our service clubs. In particular, I would like to see the Paradise and Caliente Lions clubs do some joint fund-raising. Again, this could be operated in conjunction with our Chamber of Commerce.

One idea I propose would be for the Lions to charter a gambling cruise ship for the evening. We could have a nudist gambling night. Both Lions clubs can sell tickets and we would open this to all nudists in central Florida. Tickets could be sold at every nudist resort from the Gulf Coast Resort to Cypress Cove and everywhere in between. “Space is limited, get your tickets early!”

I would put the arm on Pasco Naturally for some, oops, a lot of donated advertising.

We could charter busses for transport from the various resorts. A few issues back I called for a “nudie bus” service between the clubs in Pasco. We could use their services in this regard.

The new tag for the Paradise Lions club is “Having fun while raising money.” I can’t think of a better way to do it; and do it a few times a year. The new Chamber of Commerce would be very helpful in this regard.

This is another example of how we can come together as a community. One Lions chapter couldn’t do it alone. But with two joining together it could happen.

I can foresee a nudist sports component of the Chamber of Commerce. Rotating nude sports (water and sand volleyball, horseshoes and shuffleboard, darts and pool, etc.) events between the clubs. Progressive poker tournaments too. The list goes on and on.

It would be the responsibility of the Chamber of Commerce to help assist those who want to create more reasons to live, visit and work in Pasco. But we can’t do it without getting started and that means starting with a Town Hall Meeting!

Some possible discussion for the Nudes of the Round Table:

--How to best disseminate to the rest of the nudist world, both domestically and internationally, what we have here in Pasco/Central Florida.

--How to better relate to and educate our textile neighbors and local governing bodies. By joining with our nudist service clubs, like the Lions, and founding others, we show our involvement in the community and that we are as “normal” as they are. We just do “normal” without clothes.

--How to create and maintain a Visit Pasco program. I believe the first step should be a Visit Nudist Pasco Web site and then advertise it all over the world. This site should also be available in other languages. We have many new friends just waiting to meet us. All we have to do is get the word out.

--A type of Nudist Chamber of Commerce: Would a nudist community elected “Nudist Mayor” bring us more clout in our local governments and agencies? This person would be representing many thousands, if not tens of thousands of people, voters and incomes. Nudism in Pasco is a major economic force. It can also be a political one, too.

--Joint marketing. It would be very advantageous to bring the marketing people from our various clubs together to discuss a joint national and international marketing campaign. A brain-storming joint marketing session could be held later. This should be an element of our fledgling Nudist Chamber of Commerce.
